Description
Fished from the waters of Lake Manitoba in Canada, this fish is the only one that would truly compare to the classic “Smoked Chub.” It is in the same family as the Cisco or Herring and so its flavor is mild and a little bit sweet. While not as greasy as its Chub cousin, it would still be considered a nice oily texture.

I bought these from Charlies Smokehouse for Thanksgiving 2019….. Practically the same as a chub, just bigger…. As a matter of fact I was in a Russian grocery store (12-17-2019) in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn and they had these labeled chubs… very very good…. I bought 1… i couldnt resist

Received my order of Tullibee fish moments ago. I consumed one in less than 2 minutes. Yum, Yum–Delicious, the best. Will be buying more in the future. I am 91 years old and remember buying chubs from Charlie’s 65 years ago when I spent 4 weeks on the island Thank you Charlie’s for a fantastic product.

A taste from the past… After having multiple people tell me that Chubs were no longer available, I thought I’d never taste one like it again. Until I saw these on Charlie’s website. I was very pleased with my first bite of this delicate tasting fish on a Bagel and Cream Cheese… Mmm… Yummm..!!
I just received my 2nd order today. They all got vacuum sealed and gently stored in the freezer for when I need a treat for breakfast.

This was our first visit to Charlies Smokehouse, we bought smoked salmon, white fish and tullibee.
Outstanding quality and the freshness and the tase that brings memories from the past.
We discovered gold mine for the smoked fish and will be back each time we visit Door County.

Do you remember chubbs? My dad liked chubbs with a couple of eggs over easy. Well, sad to say chubbs are a memory, thanks to all the mussels. The fish comes well wrapped in various kinds of insulation, and the outer cardoard box is sealed with Glued Paper tape without any visible openings anywhere. You will need a small salad fork and a small sharp knife to fillet at tableside. The meat is excellent. If you like Whitefish you will enjoy Tullibees. The fish come with the head intact so be prepared to go mining for the cheeks. WARNING: The fish have tiny sharp bones. Don’t serve to small children. Enjoy!
